The Cairngorms
Pine Trees & Grasses, Glen Derry
The pinewoods of lower Glen Derry, in the Cairngorm mountains of north-east Scotland.
I spent a long time looking for a composition before settling on this one. I was attracted to this spot by a faint 'S'-curve in the foreground grasses, which I hope leads the eye through the image towards the distant fallen pine.
