Sandstone & Lichens, Coire Dubh Mòr
The geology and climate of Glen Torridon combine to produce the most wonderfully-coloured lichen communities. During a walk in Coire Dubh Mòr I was stopped in my tracks by one small sandstone boulder in particular; as well as the yellow- and ochre-coloured lichens typical of the area, it also featured some beautiful grey/blue specimens.
