The higher slopes of the mountain Sgùrr Dubh catch the first rays of the sun at the beginning of another day in Glen Torridon.
This is a favourite scene of mine; it encapsulates all of the elements that make Torridon so very special - mountain, loch and Scots pine. I have stood at this spot many times, and have rarely experienced such still conditions as on that morning.
Sgùrr Dubh is often overlooked in favour of its more famous neighbours across the glen, but like many Sgùrrs, it is a beautiful, shapely peak in its own right.
