Beach Detail, Lochbuie
Much of Mull is volcanic in origin, and many of its beaches feature dark grey sand as a result. At Lochbuie on the south coast of the island, additional colour is provided by white shell sand and seaweed, as well as leaf litter from the neigbouring broad leaf woodland.
