Gairloch & Torridon
Scots Pines & Torridonian Sandstone, Loch Maree
On the southern shore of Loch Maree, a few weathered Scots pines are all that remain of the ancient Caledonian forest which once covered this area.
I made this image as the sun set in the western sky, illuminating the slopes above the loch, while behind the peak of Slioch remained in shadow.
