Druim Bad a' Ghaill Panorama
Druim Bad a' Ghaill Panorama

A panorama of the Coigach mountains, taken from west of the marvelously scenic minor road that runs from Badnagyle in Wester Ross over to Inverkirkaig and Lochinver in Sutherland.

The hills are, left to right: Cùl Mòr, Stac Pollaidh, Cùl Beag (just visible through the cloud), Beinn an Eoin (with the twin peaks of Sgòrr Tuath and Sgòrr Deas) and finally Beinn Mhòr na Còigich.

Unusually for me, I have cropped this image vertically to create a panoramic view, as I feel that it works well in this instance. The horizontal dimension is unchanged; the file size is 5616 x 2571 pixels. It can comfortably be printed at over 25" (63.5cm) wide, and indeed I have a large framed print of this photo on my wall at home.

Canon 5D Mark II | ISO100 | 17-40 f/4L @ 19mm | f/11 | 0.25 sec | 0.6 ND hard filter
